Defined by Grace

And there is nothing that can separate you from it!

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.  Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.  1 Peter 2:9-10

Do you ever wonder who you really are?  Is the “you” that people see the real you?  Is the “you” that you see in yourself the real you?  The Bible gives us so many answers about who we are. But the starting point for our identity is and ought to be the grace freely given to us through Jesus’ death on the cross.  We are DEFINED BY GRACE.  This semester at our weekly main meetings (Tuesdays, 7pm, Dow 642), we’ll be examining what it means to be defined by grace – what does this mean for our fears, insecurities, weaknesses, guilt, pain?
